This coming Sunday, on the 8th of October, CEO of SPCK and MAI-Europe trustee, Sam Richardson is running the Chicago Marathon.
It is the final leg of his attempt to complete the six Abbott World Marathon Majors (London, Berlin, Tokyo, New York, Boston, Chicago) all in under three hours each.
He told us that it had been a six year Covid-interrupted journey including over ten thousand miles of training to get into and maintain (or, in a few instances, regain) sub 3 hour marathon shape. Chicago will be particularly challenging with just a 14-day turnaround from the Berlin Marathon where he ran a personal best of 2:41:11 last week.
For this final leg he is running to raise funds to provide as many scholarships as possible for the upcoming Littworld conference in Mexico in 2024.
